Welcome to the Melrose Tree Project
Awareness
The Melrose Tree Project is a group of local volunteers who use community engagement, education, art, and advocacy in celebration of our trees and in an effort to protect our city from deforestation.
The Melrose Tree Project is working to create a memorial to the Lewis Monk poplar in partnership with the City of Melrose. The memorial will be both a remembrance and a piece of art that the community can enjoy. This piece of art will be connected via a walking tour and website that allows the community to marvel at the amazing trees in Melrose, mourn the passing of the poplar tree, and potentially become active supporters of our trees and ecosystem.
